Reviews:
"It is difficult to comprehend the inner depth that Myra Darwish went to share her feelings about her life. I found this memoir to be filled with so many events that I have also experienced in my life, and so I was able to relate to most everything that she wrote. I have the greatest respect for Myra for the way she has lived her life, loved her family and become such a contributing member of our society. She followed her heart at all times with such clarity and great results for her and her family. I am so happy to have read this book". NaplesQueen
"The more I read, the easier it became to understand the title. I'm not aware of any other writing that combines family history and astrology. You may have found a special niche." ...Betsy Mandell
Select Quotes:
"I discovered that the grieving of our losses was the healthiest of human activities; in its fullest expression, grief can become your most trusted friend, not something to be avoided."
(Chapter 13, The Teacher p. 167)
"As an artist begins her most treasured work, she uses life as the palette and love as the canvas; she is after all, re-creating her reality. It is the experiences of her life that she will draw from: those remembered, those forgotten, those judged, and those she has let go - they will present themselves to her whether she wants them to or not, in a most perfect and timely way."
(Chapter 3, Morning Glory Morning p. 50)
“I am never alone, I thought to myself - how comforting to learn this at such a young age.”
(Chapter 1, The Window p. 15)
"I embrace our family's wholeness, knowing that we have come from different paths. It is the pattern that we have created together that is our strength."
(Chapter 6, Diaspora II p. 78)
“After my exposure to the healing power of love and prayer, I never quite saw life in the same way again. How could I, after realizing that everything is interconnected?"
(Chapter 12, Opening to Other Realities p. 156)
"Many intellectual turning points in my life have nurtured my destiny; astrology certainly ranks up there amongst undergraduate work, graduate studies, clinical experiences, and teaching.
(Chapter 16, The Discovery p. 207)
